Two Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
